Blackfalds Disc Golf Course
The Optimist Club of Blackfalds has brought forward a proposal for a disc golf course within the Town of Blackfalds, and we would like to invite the public to share their comments, questions and/or concerns about the proposal.
The two locations planned for the 9-hole course are the greenspace north of Eastpointe Drive and McKelvey Close (holes 1-4), and within the green space which houses the Pine Crescent Community Garden, playground, outdoor rink and skate deck (holes 5-9).
Detailed hole information:
- Hole 1 ~ 225 ft, target has slough to the right and behind it plus an elevation change.
- Hole 2 ~ 213 ft, entire hole along the side of the slough with trees along entire hole
- Hole 3 ~ 300 ft, long hole but wide open – Target is 50 feet from playground bench
- Hole 4 ~ 330 ft, longest hole but wide open – Target is 50 feet from nearest fence
- Hole 5 ~ 300 ft, long hole with narrow tee shot with fencing and slough on both sides
400m walk (or 4-minute walk) to Pine Crescent Park
- Hole 6 ~ 200 ft, with a few trees in front of target, avoid out of bounds on left of hole
- Hole 7 ~ 212 ft, avoiding community garden water station
- Hole 8 ~ 210 ft, trees surround entire left side of target, requiring shots to right only
- Hole 9 ~ 168 ft, tee is on left side of 20 trees and target is on right side front of the target.
