The Town of Blackfalds has a Downtown Revitalization Plan to assist with future development in the downtown areas.
The following documents outline the vision for the future development of commercial and public buildings in the downtown area and throughout the municipality and include detail on site and building design recommendations, materials and colours palettes, and the incentive program for existing facade improvements.
2019 Minister's Award for Municipal Excellence Submission - Partnership - Hwy 2A & Broadway Ave Project
As part of the ongoing enhancements to the downtown core, recent improvements to the entrance to downtown from Highway 2A via Blackfalds Crossing Way and Broadway Avenue have recently been undertaken. The enhancements include roadway improvements, boulevard landscaping, street lighting, pedestrian way-finding signage, and the Tutty Pond Park, which features trails, viewing areas and scenic rest spots.
