Mayor for a Day

Calling all Grade 6 students living in Blackfalds! 

We are seeking a "Mayor for a Day" to serve during Blackfalds Days - Saturday, June 15!

PHOTOS: 2023 MAYOR FOR A DAY KASIE JONES

Earn this prestigious title by explaining:

What existing service provided by the Town of Blackfalds is most important to you and your family, and why? How would you make that service better? (ie. Policing, garbage, snow removal, etc).

OR what new service could the Town of Blackfalds offer that is most important to you and your family, and why?

Be sure to include:

  • What challenge does your idea address?
  • What are the resources/materials and costs needed to make your idea a reality?

Submit your answer by Monday, May 20, in one of the following formats:
• Letter
• Campaign Ad
• Brochure
• Poster
• Short Essay
• Video

The Mayor for a Day group/individual will be invited to serve on Council, and join them during the Blackfalds Days Parade and Pancake Breakfast. There will also be a meet & greet Pizza Party with Council before a council meeting!
