Our no-cost programs, events, and workshops focus on nurturing essential life skills, boosting resilience, enhancing social well-being, and fostering a strong sense of belonging among young people in our community.

Blackfalds Youth Crew
Blackfalds Youth Crew is an initiative that empowers community youth through mentorship, leadership development, and peer connections. Guided by our FCSS Youth Programmer and volunteers, participants engage in a welcoming space that fosters personal growth, confidence, and social skills, all while having fun!

Youth Community Events
Youth community events are a fantastic way to engage, empower, and celebrate our young people! These events create safe and welcoming spaces where youth can connect, express themselves, and have a blast while making new friends.
Youth Night Out | November 14, 2025
- Youth Night Out is a themed evening where community youth can come together to have fun and just be themselves. With exciting activities and a welcoming vibe, it’s all about creating a space for laughter, friendships, and lasting memories.
Youth Week | May 2 – 8, 2026
- Youth Week celebrates young people with fun events, special activities, and chances to connect. It’s all about showing that youth matter and are an important part of our community.
Youth Programs
FCSS Youth Programs are designed specifically for local youth, providing safe and supportive spaces for them to learn, connect, and grow. The programs offered change throughout the year based on the interests and needs of the participants, making each season a chance to explore new opportunities.
Cooking Club | Grades 5-7
- This engaging 7-week cooking program invites youth into a hands-on space where they can learn, share, and connect. As they prepare meals together, they build confidence in the kitchen, practice teamwork, and enjoy the flavours and fun of healthy cooking.
Skateboarding | Grades 4-10
- This spring and summer program helps youth gain confidence on their skateboards, no matter their skill level. Everyone's welcome to join the fun, connect with others, and enjoy the fresh air together.
Home Alone | Grades 4-6
- Home Alone by Child Safe Canada is a 2-hour interactive workshop for youth. It covers important safety tips, basic first aid, and skills to help kids feel confident and prepared when staying home alone.
Internet Safety | Grades 3-6
- Internet Safety, by Child Safe Canada, is a hands-on program that helps youth explore the online world with confidence. Through real-life scenarios and open discussion, they learn smart ways to stay safe, protect their privacy, use social media wisely, and recognize cyberbullying.
Expressive Arts | Grades Vary
- Expressive Arts workshops invite youth to explore creativity through movement, music, storytelling, and visual arts. It’s a welcoming space to express feelings, build confidence, and connect with others—all while having fun.
Life Literacy Summer Camp | Ages 12-15
- Life Literacy Camps offer youth a fun and supportive space to strengthen everyday skills through hands-on learning, creative activities, and community connection.
