All burial applications require a permit or certificate of cremation.
Applications submitted between May 1 – October 31 must be made at least 48 hours before the time of internment.
Applications made between November 1 – April 30 require 72-hour advanced notice.
Once the application has been submitted to the Town Office and the required permit in the form of Schedule “D” (see below) has been issued, monuments or foundations may be placed on a lot.
New monuments are to be constructed of granite and have high resistance to weathering and erosion. Foundations and monuments must be contained within the lot boundary and whenever possible, monuments are to align with those on adjacent lots. A maximum of 2 monuments may be placed upon a single lot. Any second monument is to be flat, with sufficient area to accommodate any future inscriptions.
