Blackfalds Municipal Enforcement Powers Up Safety with E-Bikes

Blackfalds, Alberta (May 25, 2026) The Town of Blackfalds is modernizing its patrol fleet with the addition of two ENVO ST50 electric bikes (e-bikes) in partnership with Reds Bike Shop in Lacombe, Alberta.

The addition of the two e-bikes will enhance local security and environmental sustainability, allowing Peace Officers to access and patrol areas where traditional vehicles are unable to go. From multi-use pathways and school zones to dense residential areas, the e-bikes ensure no part of the community is inaccessible.

Mayor Laura Svab shared that adding the e-bikes to the Municipal Enforcement fleet is a great addition for the community.

“Our officers will be able to move more easily through our parks, trails, and neighbourhoods which will make them more visible and approachable. It also sets a strong example on how these devices can be used safely and responsibly, which is important as we are seeing more e-bikes and e-scooters in our town,” she said.

This initiative aligns with the evolving need of modern municipal enforcement. The e-bikes represent a cost-effective, community-oriented and ecofriendly patrol solution to support Blackfalds’ sustainability goals.

"The ENVO ST50 is a strong addition to our patrol fleet, providing a practical and safe platform that enhances our enforcement capability,” shared Blackfalds Sgt. Joe Croken.
